Representative John Snyder

John Snyder was born on April 13, 1987, in Hobe Sound, Florida. He is a third-generation Floridian with deep roots in Martin County, where he grew up in Stuart. Snyder is a Republican representing District 86 in the Florida House of Representatives.

Snyder is a business owner in the staffing and payroll services industry, which he built from the ground up. He is married to Brittany and has two children, Elizabeth and Reagan. His family has a strong tradition of public service: his father, William Snyder, served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2006 to 2012 and later served as Sheriff of Martin County. His siblings work in law enforcement and education.

Military Service

Snyder enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2007 and graduated from Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, in February 2008. In 2011, he deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He completed five years of honorable service before returning to the Treasure Coast to pursue his business and education.

Education and Political Experience

Snyder earned a bachelor's degree in marketing from Indiana Wesleyan University. He was first elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2020, initially representing District 82 before the district was redrawn to District 86. He has been reelected subsequently.

Within the legislature, Snyder holds the position of Deputy Majority Leader for the 2024-2026 term. He also serves as chair of the Agriculture & Natural Resources Budget Subcommittee and sits on several committees including the Budget Committee, PreK-12 Budget Subcommittee, Joint Legislative Budget Commission, Security & Threat Assessment Committee, and Health Care Facilities & Systems Subcommittee.

Beyond his legislative role, Snyder is affiliated with multiple community organizations, including the Center for Constitutional Values Advisory Council, Martin County Republican Executive Committee, Place of Hope Leadership Advisory Council, and Treasure Coast Classical Academy Leadership Team.
