Biography

John J. Marsi Jr.

John J. Marsi Jr. is a Republican member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives representing the 6th Worcester District, which comprises Dudley, Southbridge, Precincts 1, 2, 3, and 4A in Charlton, and Precinct 1 in Spencer.

Marsi is a long-time resident of the Dudley-Charlton area, having lived in Dudley for approximately 25 years. He is a parishioner at St. Anthony of Padua Church and is actively involved in his community. He has two children who attended Dudley-Charlton schools, with one still attending at the time of his initial campaign.

Education and Professional Background

Marsi holds a degree in Chemical Engineering and has over 25 years of experience in business management, budgeting, and leadership.

Political Experience

Marsi was first elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives in a special election on March 5, 2024. Prior to his state representation, he served extensively in local government, including 12 years on the Dudley Board of Selectmen, where he served as Chairman for 3 years and Vice Chairman for 7 years. He has also served on Dudley's Finance, Appropriation, and Advisory Committee, the Capital Improvement Committee, and the Executive Board of the South Worcester County Communications Center.

In 2025, Marsi was appointed to the Massachusetts Commission on Disability, an independent state agency established as part of the 2020 policing reform law that reviews state agency programs and practices affecting persons with disabilities and advises on legislation impacting the disability community.
