Biography
John C. Liu is a Democratic New York State Senator representing District 16 in northeast Queens, including areas like Flushing and Bayside. He serves as Democratic Majority Conference Vice Chair and Chairperson of the Senate's New York City Education Committee. Notable achievements include being the first Asian American elected to the New York City Council in 2001 and one of the first two Asian Americans elected to the New York State Senate in 2018. He previously served as New York City Comptroller from 2010 to 2013.
