Biography
John Kane is a Republican representing Oklahoma House District 11, which includes parts of Bartlesville, Collinsville, Owasso, Ramona, Skiatook, and Vera. Elected in 2022, he serves as Vice Chair of the Appropriations and Budget Committee and Public Safety Committee, and holds positions on the Joint Committee on Appropriations and Budget, Education Oversight, Judiciary and Public Safety Oversight, and others including Wildlife and Criminal Justice and Corrections. A multi-generational cattle rancher and business owner born and raised in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Kane attended the University of Kansas and earned a certificate from Texas Christian University’s School of Ranch Management. He began in banking before returning to manage his family’s cattle operation with his father and now his son. In April 2021, Governor Stitt appointed him to the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Commission, from which he resigned in late 2021 to run for office. Kane and his wife, Barbara, have five children and eight grandchildren, and are active at Grace Community Church in Bartlesville.
