Biography
John D. Johnson is a Republican member of the Utah State Senate representing District 3. A lifelong resident of Weber County, he was elected in November 2020, assumed office on January 1, 2021, initially representing District 19 until redistricting in 2023, and won re-election in 2024 with 57.5% of the vote. He chairs the Senate Education Committee and has founded companies like FNC Inc. and hosts the PoliticIt podcast. Johnson positions himself as a "Reagan Republican" focused on religious liberty, right to life, parental rights, free speech, and Second Amendment rights.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Weber State University and a Ph.D. in economics from Texas A&M University.
