John P. Carr

Current Position: State Representative
John Paul Carr is an American politician representing the 15th District in the Arkansas House of Representatives, which includes part of Benton County. He has been serving in the Arkansas House since January 11, 2021. Carr resides in Rogers, Arkansas, where he established his residence in August 2003. He is active in his community and participates in the Single's Ministry at Cross Church in Rogers. In his personal time, he enjoys collecting and restoring vintage video games and computers from his childhood, including an Atari 2600 and TI 99/4A.
Education
Carr earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Missouri at Columbia. He furthered his education by obtaining a Master of Business Administration from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and is a Certified Project Management Professional.
Political Experience
Carr currently serves his third consecutive term in the Arkansas House, having been elected in 2020, 2022, and 2024. For the 95th General Assembly, he serves on the House Revenue and Taxation Committee and the House State Agencies and Governmental Affairs Committee.
His initial election victory in 2020 included winning the Republican Primary for the 94th District with 1,019 votes against Adrienne Woods , followed by defeating Democrat Jene Huffman-Gilreath in the general election with 5,654 votes to 4,681. During the 93rd Assembly, he served on the House City, County and Local Affairs Committee, Public Transportation Committee, and Advanced Communications and Information Technology Committee.
