Biography
John R. Bell IV is a Republican representing District 10 in the North Carolina House of Representatives, which includes Wayne, Greene, and Johnston counties. A native of Mount Olive, NC, he was first elected in 2013 and is currently serving his seventh term as of the 2025-2026 session. Notable achievements include serving as House Majority Whip , Majority Leader —the longest-serving in that role—and current Chairman of the Committee on Rules, Calendar, and Operations of the House. He has also chaired the Regulatory Reform Committee and Select Committee on Wildlife Resources, and holds positions on Appropriations, Legislative Services Commission, and others focused on emergency management and recovery.

- Education: Graduate of North Duplin High School and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington .
- Professional Background: Began career as Manager of Sales and Business Development at North Carolina Community Federal Credit Union; later Client Executive at Sentinel Risk Advisors. Current occupation: Business Development.
- Political Experience: Elected to NC House in 2013; advanced to House Republican leadership roles including Majority Whip , Majority Leader , and Rules Committee Chairman .
