John L. Bartlett is a Democratic member of the Indiana House of Representatives representing District 95 in Central Indiana, which includes portions of Marion County. A lifelong resident of Indianapolis, Bartlett has built a career combining labor and community service with public service.

Before entering the legislature, Bartlett worked as a retired tool-and-die maker for the Rolls-Royce Corporation, where he had a 42-year career. He was later appointed to the Judicial Nominations Commission under Governor Frank O'Bannon and to the Public Compensation Advisory Commission by former Indiana House Speaker B. Patrick Bauer.

Bartlett filled a legislative vacancy created by the resignation of Mae Dickinson in late 2007 and was first elected to the Indiana House in 2008.
