John V. Azzariti Jr., M.D. is a Republican Assembly Member representing District 39 in the New Jersey General Assembly, serving since January 2024. A lifelong Bergen County resident born on February 1, 1966, he is an anesthesiologist at The Valley Hospital since 1996, where he has served as associate director of the anesthesiology department and president of his anesthesiology group. Notable achievements include leadership roles such as board member and House of Delegates participant at the American Society of Anesthesiologists, and past president of the New Jersey State Society of Anesthesiologists, where he remains on the executive committee. Prior to the Assembly, he served as Saddle River councilman from 2019 to 2023 and on the borough's health and zoning boards. He resides in Saddle River with his wife and son.

Education and Political Experience

Education: Earned a B.A. in chemistry and economics from Case Western Reserve University in 1988, an M.D. from UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School in 1992, and completed an anesthesiology residency at New York University Medical Center in 1996.
