Biography
Senator Joe Martin
Joseph Martin is a Republican state senator representing Senate District 19 in Maine, which spans municipalities across Oxford and Franklin counties. He was elected to his first term in the Maine State Senate in November 2024.
A native of Rumford, Maine, Martin brings extensive professional experience from his decades-long career in the international mineral extraction industry. His work took him across multiple continents, including North America, Africa, and regions such as Zaire, Sierra Leone, Zimbabwe, and Madagascar, where he specialized in the extraction of rare earth minerals and gemstones.
Active in his community, Martin is a member of several civic organizations, including the Webb River Valley Sportsman's Club, the Rangeley Region Guides' and Sportsmen's Association, and Cabot Lodge #117 of the Order of Knights of Pythias in Andover. He previously served as the grange master of Rumford Grange 115 and has held a long-standing position as chair of the Oxford County Committee of the Maine Republican Party. He also served as a former member of the Rumford Finance Committee.
Martin resides in Rumford Point with his longtime partner and is an outdoor enthusiast.

Martin is a graduate of Mexico High School.
