Biography
Joseph A. Lagana is a Democratic Party politician and attorney representing New Jersey's 38th Legislative District in the State Senate since 2018. He previously served in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2014 to 2018 and on the Paramus Borough Council, where he was president from 2012 to 2013. Notable achievements include serving on the Senate Judiciary Committee, as Vice-Chair of the Senate Labor Committee, and Chair of the Senate Commerce Committee; he has supported legislation on gun control and women's reproductive rights. Lagana practices civil litigation, healthcare, and land use law as a partner at Cleary Giacobbe Alfieri Jacobs and has been recognized as a “New Jersey Super Lawyer Rising Star.”
