Biography
Representative Joe Hamm
Joseph D. Hamm is an American politician serving as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from the 84th district, which encompasses parts of Lycoming and Sullivan Counties. Elected in November 2020, he assumed office on December 1, 2020.
Raised in central Pennsylvania, Hamm was instilled with values of hard work, personal integrity, and community service. His professional background demonstrates a commitment to public service, having worked as a borough manager and supervisor before entering state politics. He maintains district offices in Montoursville, Jersey Shore, and Mildred to serve constituents across his region.
Education
Hamm graduated from Williamsport Area High School in 2003. He later earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania in 2009.
Political Experience
Before his election to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, Hamm served in several local government roles:
- Pennsylvania Army National Guard : Enlisted after high school and served as an infantryperson, including a one-year deployment to Iraq
- Jersey Shore Borough Manager : Managed municipal operations for the borough
- Hepburn Township Board of Supervisors: Served as a member overseeing township governance
