Biography
Joe Gedeon is a Republican representing House District 18 in Hawaii, covering Portlock, Hawaiʻi Kai, and Kalama Valley in East Oʻahu. Appointed in May 2025 by Gov. Josh Green to succeed the late Rep. Gene Ward, he serves the remainder of the term until the 2026 election and has filed to run for the seat.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Born and raised in Hawaiʻi Kai, graduated from Kaiser High School, Kapiʻolani Community College, and ITT Technical Institute in San Diego. Achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in his youth.
- Professional and Community Experience: Co-founder, partner, and VP of Sales & Marketing at JPG Hawaii and JPG Media . Former president of Waikiki Rotary Club ; board member of American Advertising Federation of Hawaiʻi and Central YMCA; involved with Chamber of Commerce Hawaii and Hawaii Food Industry Association. Served as communications officer for Saint Louis School and produced a weekly conservative talk radio show, 808 State Update.
