Joe Fitzgibbon is a Democratic member of the Washington House of Representatives, representing District 34, Position 2, which includes areas such as West Seattle, Vashon Island, White Center, parts of Burien, Pioneer Square International District, Georgetown, and South Park neighborhoods of South Seattle. Born on August 27, 1986, he was first elected in 2010 as the youngest member of the legislature at the time. He has served as House Majority Leader since 2022 . Notable achievements include chairing the House Environment & Energy Committee from 2014-2022 , where he led passage of major climate legislation such as the Clean Energy Transformation Act , Clean Fuel Standard , and Climate Commitment Act . He received the 2015 "Legislator of the Year" award from Washington Conservation Voters. Current roles include the Appropriations and Rules committees, and Select Committee on Pension Policy .
