Biography
Joseph Frank D'Orsie is a Republican member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing the 47th District in York County since 2023. He serves parts of York County, including Conewago, Manchester, East Manchester, and Hellam townships; the boroughs of Hallam, Manchester, Mount Wolf, and Wrightsville; and the northern tier of Springettsbury Township. Currently in his second term , D'Orsie is a member of the Pennsylvania Freedom Caucus and serves on the House Committees on Commerce; Communications and Technology; Education ; and Labor and Industry. Notable achievements include defeating incumbent Keith Gillespie in the 2022 Republican primary amid a right-wing backlash, receiving the Guardian of Small Business designation from the National Federation of Independent Businesses, and advocating for school choice, abolishing school taxes, repealing automatic gas tax increases, protecting women and girls in sports, free speech in higher education, and congressional term limits. His second-term priorities include pharmacy benefit manager reform, cutting regulations, and supporting businesses, families, and students.
Education and Political Experience
- Graduated from Dallastown Area High School.
- Earned a B.A. in public relations from Duquesne University in 2008, where he was a three-year starter in Division 1 football and wrestling .
- Co-hosted a weekly sports talk radio show on WDSR and provided TV color commentary for high school football games.
- Worked as a local and overseas missionary, including with YWAM in the Dominican Republic in 2012.
