Biography
Joe Aragona is the state representative for Michigan's 60th District, which includes northern Clinton Township and most of Macomb Township. Born September 25, 1987, in Macomb County, he was first elected in November 2022, re-elected in 2024, and serves as chair of the House Regulatory Reform Committee, vice chair of the House Rules Committee, and a member of the Finance and Insurance Committees.
A lifelong Macomb County resident, Aragona worked at his family's small business, Aragona Family Jewelers, and previously served as a Clinton Township trustee, deputy supervisor for Harrison Township, and legislative director for State Rep. Anthony Forlini. He is actively involved in community service as a Kiwanian, Goodfellows member supporting "No Child without a Christmas," and board president of the Humane Society of Macomb, advocating for animal welfare and local charities.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduated from Lutheran High School North ; B.S. in Biomedical Diagnostics from Oakland University ; Executive MBA from Michigan State University .
- Political Experience: Elected to Michigan House in 2022 ; former Clinton Township trustee and Harrison Township deputy supervisor; current committee leadership roles in regulatory reform, rules, finance, and insurance.
