Biography
Jimmy Gazaway is a Republican member of the Arkansas House of Representatives representing District 31, which includes part of Greene County. A native of Paragould, Arkansas, he graduated from Paragould High School in 1999 and has served as an attorney in private practice since 2006, following roles as a deputy prosecuting attorney and legal counsel to municipalities. He is a Christian and actively involved in community organizations such as the Greene County Bar Association, Arkansas Bar Association, Paragould Rotary Club, and Leadership Paragould.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Arkansas State University in 2003 ; Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law in 2006 .
- Political Experience: Elected in 2016, serving his fifth term with seniority ranking 27. Chairs the House State Agencies and Governmental Affairs Committee; serves on the House Judiciary Committee, Joint Performance Review Committee, and as House Chair for the Legislative Joint Auditing Committee. Notable positions include sponsoring bills on police video restrictions and supporting pro-life, small business, lower taxes, and efficient government initiatives.
