Biography
Jimmy Dillon is a former American politician and Democrat who served in the Pennsylvania State Senate representing the 5th District from June 7, 2022, to November 30, 2024. He won a special election on May 17, 2022, to succeed John Sabatina but was defeated for re-election by Republican Joe Picozzi on November 5, 2024. Prior to his Senate service, he worked as a grant compliance monitor for the School District of Philadelphia and has been described as a small business owner.
Notable achievements include serving as minority chair of the Communications and Technology Committee, with assignments on Community, Economic and Recreational Development; Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure; Labor and Industry; and Law and Justice committees. He co-sponsored Senate Bill 824 for free credit monitoring for data breach victims and Senate Bill 1213 combating AI-generated child pornography and deepfakes. In January 2023, he was appointed to the Pennsylvania Athletic Oversight Committee by Senate Democratic Leader Jay Costa.
