Biography
Jim Walsh is a Republican representing Washington's 19th Legislative District in the state House of Representatives, Position 1. Born on May 6, 1964, in Jacksonville, Florida, he resides in Aberdeen, Washington, and is a father of five children. Elected in 2016 as only the third Republican to represent the district since the 1940s, he broke a long-standing Democratic hold and has been re-elected with strong margins, including over 60% in recent cycles. His priorities include creating family-wage jobs, funding schools, protecting taxpayers, property rights, and gun rights, as well as diversifying coastal economies. Notable positions include Ranking Republican Member on the Civil Rights & Judiciary Committee, Assistant Ranking Member on State Government & Tribal Relations, and service on Capital Budget and other committees. He chaired the Washington State Republican Party in 2024 and previously led the Grays Harbor County Republican Party.
