Biography

James Nicholas Tedisco is a New York State Senator representing District 44. Born on July 15, 1950, in Schenectady, New York, and residing in Glenville, he has served in the Senate since 2023, following terms in District 49 from 2017-2023. Previously, he was a New York State Assemblymember for District 112 from 1983-2016, where he held leadership roles including Minority Leader and Minority Whip. Earlier, he served on the Schenectady City Council . Notable achievements include 2025 Women of Distinction Honoree and New York State Senate Veterans' Hall of Fame Honoree. He ran for U.S. House in New York's 20th District in 2009 and holds committee roles such as Ranking Member of the Education Committee and Racing, Gaming and Wagering Committee.
