Biography
Senator Jim Rosapepe represents Maryland's 21st District, encompassing Prince George's and Anne Arundel Counties. A longtime advocate for working families, education, and the environment, he champions job creation, health insurance expansion, public school improvements, University of Maryland support, and Chesapeake Bay cleanup. Notable achievements include serving as U.S. Ambassador to Romania under President Clinton, where he advanced U.S. interests during NATO's Kosovo operations; prior service in the Maryland House of Delegates as Vice-Chair of the Ways and Means Committee; appointment to the University System of Maryland Board of Regents ; and current roles as Vice Chair of the Senate Budget and Taxation Committee, member of the Executive Nominations Committee, and Senate Chair of the Prince George's County Delegation . He has also held leadership positions such as Deputy Majority Whip and Chair of the Democratic Party Caucus.
