Biography
Jim McCune is a Republican state senator representing District 2 in the Washington State Senate since 2021. Born on September 17, 1950, in Seattle, Washington, he is a lifelong resident, small businessman specializing in Copper River salmon products for over 36 years, and father of three sons. Notable positions include sole Senate vote against recognizing Islamic holidays Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha in 2025; current committees: Early Learning & K-12 Education, State Government Tribal Affairs & Elections, and Business Trade & Economic Development.
Education and Political Experience
Education: Diploma from Highline High School; additional private courses in law and early American history.
