Biography
Jim Guthrie is a Republican state senator representing District 28 in Idaho, which encompasses much of Bannock County and all of Power County. Born on July 13, 1955, in Pocatello, Idaho, he resides in McCammon and has served in the Senate since 2012, currently in his seventh term. He has three children, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, and operates a farm and ranch while drawing on extensive experience in construction, heavy industry , and public service.

- Notable Achievements and Positions: Served on boards including Portneuf Medical Center, Lava Foundation, McCammon Ditch, and Inkom Cement Employees Credit Union; recognized for courageous leadership, such as opposing a budget bill in 2024 to protect rural constituents from cuts.
