Biography
Jim Butler - West Virginia Delegate
James Harry Butler is an American politician born on September 18, 1965. He is a Republican member of the West Virginia House of Delegates, currently representing the 18th District since December 1, 2022. Butler previously represented the 14th district from 2012 to 2020.
A lifelong resident of Mason County, Butler has built his career in the private sector as an excavating contractor, logging contractor, and classic auto restoration specialist, working with friends and neighbors for over 30 years. He resides in Henderson, West Virginia, with his spouse Anna Maria Butler. The couple has two children: Blayne and Kayla.

Butler's education is heavily focused on technical and military training through the United States Marine Corps. His educational background includes:

Political Experience
Butler currently serves as Assistant Majority Whip in the West Virginia House of Delegates. His legislative tenure spans from 2012 to the present, having previously served as Assistant Republican Whip from 2016 to 2018.
Beyond his legislative role, Butler is actively involved in his community through numerous affiliations, including the Mason County Chamber of Commerce, Mason County Farm Bureau, Marine Corps League, American Legion, and the West Virginia Republican State Executive Committee. He is a member of Main Street Baptist Church in Point Pleasant, West Virginia.
