Biography
Jillian Gilchrest is a Democratic state representative serving Connecticut's 18th District in West Hartford. Elected to the Connecticut General Assembly in 2018, she serves as House Chair of the Human Services Committee and is a member of the Appropriations, Public Health, and Judiciary Committees. She also chairs the Trafficking in Persons Council ** and the **Endometriosis Working Group. Notable for her advocacy in women's health, safety, and domestic violence prevention, she previously worked as Director of Health Professional Outreach for the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Executive Director of NARAL Pro-Choice Connecticut, and Director of Policy & Communications for the Connecticut Alliance to End Sexual Violence.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Holds a Master's Degree in Social Work with a focus in Policy Practice from the University of Connecticut School of Social Work, where she has taught Political Advocacy. Currently teaches at the University of Saint Joseph and University of Hartford.
