Biography
Senator Jill Carter is a Republican representing Missouri's 32nd Senatorial District, which includes Jasper and Newton counties. She serves as Majority Caucus Whip and was first elected in November 2022, sworn in on January 4, 2023. A southwest Missouri resident for 36 years, she is married to her high school sweetheart, with five children and one granddaughter. Prior to her Senate role, she spent over a decade advocating at the Capitol on her own dime, initially focusing on education policy before addressing broader issues to ensure government serves the people. She is passionate about her country and community, and serves on the Senate Committee on Empowering Missouri Parents and Children Select.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduate of East Newton High School and Crowder College.
- Political Experience: Began legislative advocacy over a decade ago, working on policy without prior political office; elected to Missouri Senate in 2022 for District 32; appointed Majority Caucus Whip in 2025.
