Jessie Danielson is a Democratic state senator representing District 22 in Jefferson County, Colorado. Born in 1977 or 1978, she is a fourth-generation Coloradan who grew up on her family's farm near Ault in Weld County and currently resides in Wheat Ridge with her husband, Andy, and their two children. A Democrat first elected to the Colorado House in 2014 , she served two terms there, including as Speaker Pro Tem, before moving to the Senate in 2018 and being redistricted to District 22 in 2022. She is currently running for Colorado Secretary of State and has focused her legislative work on economic security, voter access, senior protections, environmental preservation, women's equality, workers' rights, and Indigenous issues. Notable achievements include prime sponsoring the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, Farmworker Bill of Rights, laws against wage theft, protections for older Coloradans and veterans, rain barrel legalization, banning Native American mascots, and creating the state Office of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives .
