Biography
Jessica González is a Democratic member of the Texas House of Representatives, serving District 104 since January 2019. She is a licensed attorney focused on criminal justice reform, voting rights, affordable housing, and LGBTQ+ rights.
Jessica Araceli González, born December 25, 1980, in Dallas, is serving her fourth term representing House District 104. A practicing attorney at Gandara & González, PLLC, in her district, she champions working families, marginalized communities, and civil rights. She married her wife, Angela, in 2021 and enjoys family time, Nintendo games, and LEGO sets. Notable achievements include the 2024 Profile in Courage Award from Equality Texas, Texas Monthly’s “Bull of the Brazos” , Matt Garcia Public Service Award from MALDEF, and USA Today’s Women of the Year . She serves as Chair of the Texas House LGBTQ Caucus, Vice-Chair of the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators' Human and Civil Rights Task Force, co-founder of the Texas Criminal Justice Reform Caucus, and member of the Texas Women's Health Caucus and Texas Veterans Caucus.

- Education: Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice from The University of Texas at Arlington; Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University-Cooley School of Law .
- Early Career: Congressional Hispanic Caucus Fellow, Legislative Assistant for a U.S. Representative, White House intern; Nevada Voter Protection Director for President Obama’s 2012 re-election; authored white paper on Latino voting barriers.
