Senator Jesse Salomon is a Democrat representing Washington's 32nd Legislative District in the state Senate, elected in 2018.

Notable achievements in his first two years include prime-sponsoring and passing legislation to close the educational gender opportunity gap, fight hate and bias-based crimes, prevent foreign interference in elections, ban fracking for natural gas, and protect salmon habitat. He also secured funding for local parks, salmon restoration at Edmonds Marsh, and programs aiding pregnant and new mothers in recovery to prevent foster care entry.

Education and Political Experience

Prior to the Senate, Salomon worked as a public defender, former Shoreline city councilmember, and child welfare prosecutor, bringing diverse experience to his role. He is involved in groups like the Public Defense Advisory Committee, CSG West's Legislative Council on River Governance, Pacific Fisheries Legislative Task Force, and Washington Marine Resources groups.
