Jerry Turner
Jerry R. Turner is a Republican representative in the Mississippi State House of Representatives, representing District 18 since 2004.
Jerry Turner was born on November 16, 1941, in Tupelo, Mississippi, and currently resides in Baldwyn, Mississippi. He is married to Mary and has three children: Jerry, Terry, and Suzanne. Turner is a member of the Church of Christ and previously served as an elder at Hillcrest Church of Christ.
Education
Turner graduated from Tupelo High School in 1960.
Political Experience
Turner has served as a Representative in the Mississippi State House of Representatives for District 18 since 2004. Throughout his tenure, he has held several leadership positions within the legislature, including:
- Chair of the Accountability, Efficiency, Transparency Committee
- Chair of the Rules Committee
- Chair of the Select Committee on Accountability/Efficiency/Transparency
He ran as a candidate for reelection to his District 18 seat in 2023.
Business and Community Involvement
Beyond his legislative work, Turner is actively involved in business and community development. He serves as owner and president of multiple enterprises, including Northfork Farm/Construction Equipment, Northfork Used Cars/Trucks, and Turner's Big Star Supermarkets. Turner is a member of several community organizations, including the Baldwyn Chamber of Commerce, Baldwyn Development, the Community Development Foundation, and the Mississippi Cattleman's Association.
