Jerry W. Stevenson is a Republican Utah State Senator representing District 6, which covers parts of Davis County including Layton, Syracuse, and Clearfield. Appointed to the Senate in January 2010, he currently serves as chair of the Executive Appropriations Committee and holds positions on boards such as Weber State University's Board of Trustees, the Military Installation Development Authority, the Utah Inland Port Authority, the Point of the Mountain Development Commission, and CommonSpirit - Holy Cross Hospital of Davis County. Prior to the Senate, he served eight years on the Layton City Council and 12 years as mayor of Layton, where he expanded the city's infrastructure and economic prosperity; he owns and operates J&J Nursery and Garden Center. He and his wife Sue have five children, 23 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
