Jerome Moon

Representative Jerome Moon is a Republican serving Tennessee House District 8, which includes Maryville in Blount County.

Jerome Moon was born on June 20, 1947, in Maryville, Tennessee. He is married to Deborah and has two daughters and four grandchildren. Moon is a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church and is a retired newspaper publisher who formerly served as president and publisher of The Daily Times Newspaper. He also served in the United States Navy and maintains active membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10855 and the National Rifle Association.

Education

Moon graduated from Maryville High School and earned a degree in Business from the University of Tennessee. He also completed the University of Tennessee Executive Development Program.

Political Experience

Moon has held the following positions in public service:

• Current: State Representative, Tennessee House District 8
• Previous: Commissioner, Blount County Board of Commissioners, District 4

In the Tennessee House, Moon currently serves as Chair of the Subcommittee on Cities & Counties and is a member of the Commerce Committee and State and Local Government Committee. He previously served on the Insurance and Banking Committee and the Subcommittee on Business and Utilities. Moon has run for reelection in 2022 and 2024, successfully maintaining his seat representing District 8.
