Biography
Jeremy P. Stine is a Republican member of the Louisiana State Senate representing District 27 . A businessman from Lake Charles, he serves as Senate Majority Leader and Chair of the Louisiana Republican Legislative Delegation. He was first elected in November 2021 and is eligible to serve through the 2028-2032 term. Stine is Marketing Director for his family's Stine Lumber business in Sulphur, Louisiana, overseeing strategy for a company with over 850 employees and $300 million in revenue. Notable committee roles include Vice Chair of Environmental Quality, member of Finance, Labor and Industrial Relations, Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget, Joint Legislative Committee on Capital Outlay, and Senate Executive Committee.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in Political Science and French.
- Political Experience: Born and raised in Calcasieu Parish, Stine worked in the family lumber business from high school onward. Elected to the Senate in 2021; advanced to Majority Leader in 2023. Also serves as president of the Alliance for Positive Growth and is active in the Acadiana Delegation.
