About
Representative Jenny Graham ** represents Washington's **6th Legislative District, based in Spokane. She is a native Washingtonian, born in 1965 in Long Beach, California, and a resident of the 6th District with her husband Curtis, where they raised their family. An Army Reserves veteran in the transportation field, she is a proud mother of an Air Force airman. Her family background includes her parents' trucking company, which inspired her military service and blue-collar career. Professionally, she is a licensed Professional Cosmetologist and Esthetician since 1984 and former small business owner in beauty, recreational vehicle rentals, and housing.
Jenny's justice focus stems from personal tragedy: her sister Debra Estes was a victim of the Green River Killer, and she is a survivor of child rape. This drove her as a child and domestic violence advocate, volunteering as a Cub Scout den mother, school volunteer, registered Taekwondo instructor, and ski coach for the developmentally disabled. She enjoys camping, scuba diving, home improvement, and recycling.
Notable achievements include leading efforts in 2011 to change Washington's child sexual assault statutes of limitations, signed into law in 2014 by Gov. Inslee; as a legislator, she helped eliminate these statutes entirely. She authored HB 1601, protecting parents' rights in schools , and sponsors HB 1872 to audit homelessness programs for accountability. She advocates balancing rehabilitation with victim accountability and community safety.
