Biography

Jennifer Marie Leeper is a Democratic member of the Connecticut House of Representatives, representing the 132nd District . She assumed office on January 6, 2021, after winning the general election in November 2020, following a narrow loss in a January 2020 special election. Notable achievements include serving as Chair of the Education Committee, Vice Chair of the Human Services Committee , and membership on committees such as Appropriations, Environment, Commerce, and Education. She is also Co-Chair of the Connecticut Main Street Working Group and the Indoor Air Quality Task Force, and has advocated for education, senior services, gun violence prevention, and reproductive rights as a member of the Moderate Caucus.

Education and Political Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Religion from Wellesley College; Master’s in Public Policy from the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago.
  • Political Experience: Served on the Fairfield Board of Education and Fairfield Board of the Democratic Party . Previously worked as a data analyst, in the Performance Office at the Connecticut State Department of Education, and as a school administrator in New York City. Won re-election in 2024. Resides in Fairfield with her husband Nicholas and their two children.
