Biography
Jeff Witte is a Republican member of the Minnesota House of Representatives, representing District 57B in the southern Twin Cities metropolitan area, including most of Lakeville and parts of Dakota County. Born on December 26, 1965, he was elected in 2022 for an open seat following legislative redistricting and is currently in his second term. A 32-year resident of Lakeville, he is married to Jen and has three daughters who graduated from Lakeville Area Schools. Witte works in game day security for the Minnesota Twins and serves on the board of the Minnesota Thunder Academy.
Notable achievements include his 27-year career as a retired police officer with the Burnsville Police Department, where he served as a sergeant, school resource officer, and crisis negotiator. In the legislature, he has advocated for law enforcement and first responders by leading efforts to restore school resource officers, combat carjacking, secure funding for Lakeville’s first responder training facility, and launching the “Law Enforcement 365 Initiative.” On taxes, he has pushed to eliminate Social Security benefit taxes, increase property tax exemptions for disabled veterans, and opposed gas tax hikes and $10 billion in tax increases.

- Served on the Lakeville Planning Commission from 2017, including as chair during rapid city growth.
