Biography
Jeff Vernetti is a Republican state representative for Missouri's 123rd District, which covers Camden County and the Lake of the Ozarks region. Elected in November 2024 after defeating incumbent Lisa Thomas in the Republican primary and challenger Nancy Bates in the general election, he assumed office on January 8, 2025. He announced his re-election campaign, emphasizing fiscal responsibility, taxpayer protection, infrastructure, local businesses, agriculture, and community growth. As a businessman and real estate developer, he advocates against personal property taxes and utility overreach.
Education and Political Experience
Vernetti's professional background includes extensive business experience rather than specified formal education details. He co-founded and co-owned Ballparks National, a premier youth baseball and softball complex at Lake of the Ozarks, where he served as General Manager. Under his leadership, it hosted over 5,000 games from teams in 21 states, generated millions in economic impact, employed over 50 staff, and won awards like Missouri’s Best Youth Sports Complex and Lake Area Small Business of the Year.
He also owns LOZ Sports Training, the area's only youth sports training facility opened in 2021, focusing on team rentals and individual lessons. Additionally, he owns two other local businesses and has held sales and management roles at SBC Communications, Charter Communications, Glazers Distributors, and BSN Sports, managing budgets, sales goals, and personnel for nearly 20 years.
This marks his first term in the Missouri House, where he has focused on hands-on public service for the region.
