Jeffrie Eugene Long Jr. is a Democratic member of the Maryland House of Delegates representing District 27B . Elected in November 2022 and sworn in on January 11, 2023, he is one of the first Gen-Z members of the Maryland General Assembly alongside Joe Vogel. A self-described fiscal conservative, Long serves on the House Environment and Transportation Committee , acts as Chaplain for the Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland , and is a member of the Maryland Legislative Latino Caucus. Notable achievements include introducing a 2026 bill to investigate conditions at the House of Reformation and Instruction for Colored Children in Cheltenham after the rediscovery of an estimated 230 unmarked youth graves, serving as a delegate to the 2024 Democratic National Convention, and his prior roles advancing Democratic priorities. He resides in Brandywine, pastors Communion Church in Huntingtown, and enjoys family time, traveling, reading, barbecuing, and boating on the Chesapeake Bay.
