Biography
Jeff LaRe
Jeffrey LaRe was born on February 9, 1976, and is an American politician and law enforcement officer. A Republican, he currently serves as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives representing the 73rd district, which includes the northern half of Fairfield County and northern portions of the region. He resides in Violet Township with his wife Amy and three children.
LaRe is active in his community, coaching his son's lacrosse team and participating in mud obstacle runs, Cyclocross, and Triathlete competitions in his leisure time.
Education
LaRe received OPATA Certification as a Certified Peace Officer in 1996 and also holds OPATA Certification as a Corrections Officer. He attended Ohio University.
Political Experience
LaRe was appointed to the Ohio House of Representatives during the 133rd General Assembly and is currently serving his third term in the state house. Prior to his legislative career, he worked as an OPOTA Certified Peace Officer and Corrections Officer at the Fairfield County Sheriff's Office.
In his professional capacity, LaRe serves as Executive Vice President of The Whitestone Group, a nationwide provider of asset protection and security services, where he has worked since 2000.
Within the Ohio House, LaRe holds memberships on several committees including the Criminal Justice Committee, where he serves as Vice Chair of the Finance Committee, and participates in the Pensions Committee and Rules and Reference Committee. He is an active member of the Business First Caucus and the Ohio Legislative Sportsmen's Caucus. Additionally, he serves on the Attorney General Facial Recognition Task Force and was a member of the Ohio House Coronavirus Task Force.
