Jeana Ross

Jeana Ross, of Guntersville, is a Republican member of the Alabama House of Representatives representing District 27, which encompasses Arab, Guntersville, Union Grove, Cherokee Ridge, and Grant in Marshall County.
Ross won the special House District 27 GOP primary runoff, defeating Arab City Council member Alan Miller with 53.31% of the vote. Her district covers most of Marshall County.
Education
Ross holds a bachelor's degree in early childhood education from the University of Alabama in Birmingham and a master's degree in education leadership from the University of Alabama.
Political Experience
Ross began her 26-year career in public education as an elementary school classroom teacher in Jackson County before moving into administrative positions in the Marshall County, Boaz City, and Madison County school systems. She served as a former chair of the Marshall County Republican Party.
Most notably, Ross led the Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education as Secretary from 2012 until her retirement in 2020. During her tenure, she oversaw a significant expansion of the state's voluntary First Class Pre-K program. The number of pre-K classrooms grew from 217 to 1,250 across all 67 counties—a 470% increase. Under her leadership, Alabama led the nation in providing the highest quality early learning experiences for four-year-old children for 14 consecutive years.
Ross's political platform emphasizes supporting small businesses, creating jobs, and protecting Alabama's traditional values, with a focus on equipping children with essential life skills to build a workforce for long-lasting, well-paying jobs.
