Biography
Jean Leniol Jeudy is a Democratic member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, serving Hillsborough 23 . Born in Jérémie, Haiti, he immigrated to the United States in 1983 after vacationing in 1981, drawn by its political freedoms, and became a U.S. citizen in 1995. A notable achievement is becoming the first Haitian-American legislator in New Hampshire history upon his election in 2005, where he has served continuously since defeating Republican Robert Fremeau.
Education and Political Experience
Education: Training courses at Roger Williams, Bristol, RI.
Political Experience: Elected to the New Hampshire House in a 2005 special election following a prior near-miss in the 2004 Democratic primary; representative since 2005. Previously a journalist and host of TV Palmiste. Community involvement includes founding the Manchester Haitian Community Center after a 1993 back injury, and serving on boards for United Way and Manchester Public-access television. Resides in Manchester, NH.
