Biography
Jack "Jay" William Gallé Jr. is a Republican member of the Louisiana House of Representatives representing District 104 . A USMC veteran, self-employed businessman, husband, and father, he has served since January 8, 2024, and is eligible through 2032. Notable achievements include chairing the House Select Committee on Homeland Security and sponsoring a 2024 bill signed into law by Governor Jeff Landry limiting liability for drivers harming individuals illegally blocking roads. He is also a member of the Louisiana Freedom Caucus, Louisiana Republican Legislative Delegation, and Northshore Delegation.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduated from Holy Cross High School; attended LSU briefly; earned a B.A. in communications with a minor in drama from Loyola University of New Orleans ; completed meteorology studies .
- Early Career: Served in the US Marine Corps ; worked in family restaurant business; pursued film industry in Los Angeles as actor, writer, producer, and military technical advisor; meteorologist at WDSU for eight years; general manager of La Thai Uptown restaurant.
- Political Experience: Elected in 2023 defeating John Raymond ; committees include Insurance, Judiciary, Ways and Means, Joint Legislative Committee on Capital Outlay , and Special Committee on Military and Veterans Affairs.
