Biography
Jay Edwards is a Republican politician from Nelsonville in Southeast Ohio. He served as a state representative in the Ohio House of Representatives for the 94th district from 2017 to 2025, due to term limits. During his tenure, he held leadership roles including Majority Whip and Chair of the House Finance Committee. Notable achievements include sponsoring and passing a $3.2 billion tax cut, universal school choice, and a 2021 joint resolution prohibiting non-citizens from voting in local elections. As of 2026, he is a candidate for the Republican nomination for Ohio State Treasurer. He lives in Nelsonville with his partner Jayde and their three children.
