Jay Dean is a Republican representing Texas House District 7 in East Texas, which currently includes Gregg, Harrison, and Marion Counties . First elected in 2016 and serving since 2017, he is a lifelong conservative advocate for smaller government, responsible budgeting, low taxes, economic development, public education, Second Amendment rights, and pro-life positions. Notable achievements include his decade as Mayor of Longview , during which the city was ranked by Forbes as one of the "best places for business" and top 10 U.S. cities for economic growth. He currently chairs the House Insurance Committee and serves on Energy Resources, with his seat up for election in 2026.
