Javier Martínez is a Democratic representative for District 11 in the New Mexico House of Representatives, covering Bernalillo County and Albuquerque. He has served since 2015 and is the current Speaker of the House since 2023, as well as former Majority Leader. Notable achievements include advocating for generous tax credits for working families, community organizing, and breaking barriers as the first in his immigrant family to graduate college.

• Earned a law degree and works as an attorney, policy director, and general counsel at the Partnership for Community Action in South Valley, New Mexico.
• Previously served as a public health advocate at the University of Michigan and community organizer in Albuquerque.
