Biography
Jason Michael Woolford represents Michigan's 50th House District, which includes most of Livingston County, such as the City of Howell, Village of Fowlerville, and various townships including Howell, Marion, Unadilla, Iosco, Handy, Conway, Cohoctah, Deerfield, Oceola, Hartland, and parts of Pinckney, Putnam, and Tyrone. Born February 26, 1972, in Howell, he is married to Maria Woolford and has three children: Jenna, Jason II, and Juliana. Woolford assumed office in January 2025 after defeating incumbent Bob Bezotte in the Republican primary and Democrat Austin Breuer in the general election; he previously ran unsuccessfully for the 48th District in 2022. He serves as Chairman of the House Oversight Subcommittee on State and Local Assistance Programs, and sits on the House Families and Veterans Committee, House Oversight Subcommittee on Weaponization of State Government, and full House Oversight Committee. Notable positions include advocating for voter ID requirements and serving as an at-large elector for President Donald Trump.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduated from Howell High School ; Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree of Divinity from Great Plains Baptist Divinity School.
- Military and Professional Experience: Served in the U.S. Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton on the Marine burial team, honorably discharged as Corporal ; worked at a Marble and Granite Company in California; President of non-profit Mission Cry – Christian Resources International since 2010, distributing over $480 million in Bibles and Christian materials to 178 nations.
- Political Experience: Elected to Michigan House in 2024; active in securing elections and defending civil liberties, military/veterans support, family rights, women's sports, and the American Dream.
