Biography

Jason Mark White is an American politician and Republican representing Mississippi House District 48, which includes portions of Attala, Carroll, Holmes, and Leake counties. Born and raised in Kosciusko, Mississippi, he resides in West and serves as Speaker of the Mississippi House of Representatives, elected unanimously in January 2024 as the 62nd Speaker. Notable achievements include switching from Democrat to Republican in December 2012, leadership roles such as Rules Chairman, Republican Floor Leader, Republican Caucus Chairman, and Speaker Pro Tempore under Philip Gunn, and key involvement in legislation like the Mississippi Infrastructure Modernization Act, Mississippi Tax Freedom Act , public school funding reform, economic development, job creation, education investments, and workforce development.
