Jason C. Stephens is a Republican politician representing Ohio's 93rd House District, which encompasses Gallia, Jackson, and Lawrence Counties. Appointed to the Ohio House in October 2019 following Ryan Smith's departure, he is currently in his third full term and resides in Kitts Hill with his wife Juli, married since 1994; they have three grown sons, two daughters-in-law, and two granddaughters, and are active members of the Rome Church of Christ.

Education and Political Experience

• Education: Earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics/Finance and Business Management from Lipscomb University in 1993. He is a Certified Financial Planner™ licensee and has worked as a licensed insurance agent since 1996, co-owning Stephens & Son Insurance Agency, Inc., and Stephens & Son Insurance of Chesapeake, Inc.
• Political Experience: Served as Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives for the entire 135th General Assembly , during which the House passed Ohio's largest tax cuts in state history, record-setting budgets including the largest transportation, operating , and capital budgets. Previously, he was Lawrence County Auditor and Lawrence County Commissioner . Notable positions include service on boards such as the KYOVA Interstate Planning Commission, Ironton/Lawrence County Community Action Organization, Ohio Medical Transportation Board, Shawnee State University Investment Advisory Committee, and County Auditors Association of Ohio’s Legislative Committee. In 2023, he supported legislation banning gender-affirming care for minors and transgender athletes in women's sports .
