Biography
Jason Saine is a Republican who represented North Carolina House District 97, encompassing Lincoln County. He was appointed in 2011 to complete the unexpired term of Rep. Johnathan Rhyne and served multiple full terms thereafter, winning reelection in 2012, 2014, and 2016, and continuing into at least his fifth full term as noted in later records. Notable achievements include being recognized as the most effective freshman legislator during his first full term, serving as Senior Chairman of the House Finance Committee , founding chair of the IT Appropriations Subcommittee and IT Joint Oversight Committee , and acting as North Carolina State Chair then National Chair of the American Legislative Exchange Council in 2018. He also received the North Carolina Technology Association’s Public Leadership Award for IT work and currently serves on the Federal Communications Commission’s Intergovernmental Advisory Committee. Saine is married to Kathryn Saine, Director of the Lincoln County Senior Center, and they have one son, Jackson.
