Biography
Jason William Barnet Pizzo is an American attorney and politician serving as a Florida State Senator for District 37 since 2018. Originally a Democrat, he switched to *No Party Affiliation * in April 2025. He lives in Florida with his wife April and two children, Jack and Julian, and is Roman Catholic.
Notable achievements include serving as Minority Leader Pro Tempore , chair of the Broward Legislative Delegation, vice chair of the Senate’s Resiliency Committee, and chair of the Joint Legislative Auditing Committee. He holds vice chair positions on the Appropriations Committee on Pre-K-12 Education and Regulated Industries Committee . Awards include Jewish Community Services Leadership Award , Big Brothers/Big Sisters Legislative Champion , and MADD Prosecution Award of Honor . As a former prosecutor, he helped create the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Gun Violence Initiative targeting cold case shootings and juvenile homicides.
